RivChat
At the beginning of my studing I was living in student's hotel named "Riviera". There was local area network with about 1000 computers connected in it. A lot of residents started to use popular polish program "LanChat pro" to communicate in this network. But this program wasn't good (it often crashed), so I tried to create similar program, but more stable and better adapted to our needs. I wrote first version of RivChat. It was in 2002.
Today program is still supported, but communication in Local Area Networks isn't so important as in the past...
RivChat's home page is visited by 70-120 persons every day.
During first week after publication of version 2.0 of RivChat. Program was installed on at least 1000 computers (connected to Internet).
Program is royalty-free, but is closed source.
