What is SmartScore

You have probably heard about OCR programs. Such programs can read scanned information and transform it into the editable form. Best known OCR programs are ones, that can read text, like "Recognita" or "Finereader".

SmartScore is similar, but it's destination is different: it can read notes.

Thanks SmartScore you can quickly listen the score. You only need to put it on the scanner and start the program. SmartScore will scan your score and transform it into the editable and playable form. Now you can listen your score. You can very quickly transpose score, edit it in any way, print it, but you don't need to enter all notes into computer note by note. SmartScore can use MIDI too, so you can record your playing and transform it into notes.

SmartScore is commercial software, published by Musitek Corporation from USA. Full version costs $399, but smaller versions start from $99.

SmartScore is available for: Windows and MacOS X platform.

My part of work in this project

SmartScore was created from the beginning in Poland. If you don't believe it, please start program, open "about window" and double click in program icon.

Program is created by Warsaw company ICT. My cooperation with ICT started in February 2002. We were writing version 3.0 of SmartScore. Just after SmartScore 3 was published, I've become main programmer of this project.

The current market version of SmartScore is SmartScore 5. This version has completely new, written from sketch, score engine. This engine has been projected by me.
